Long before anyone cleaned the air, algae made it.

More than two billion years ago, algae filled the sky with oxygen. Every second breath we take still comes from them. We have given them a city to heal: its air, its water and its soil.

Every tap releases a puff of city air, and the living column draws it in. For each molecule of carbon dioxide the culture takes, it gives one molecule of oxygen back. One in, one out: that is why up to 643 kg of carbon dioxide a year becomes about 467 kg of oxygen.*
